Where you will go

  • Kyoto

    In the ancient capital of Kyoto, you will stay in a lodging away from the throngs of tourists. Stroll along the quiet backstreets. Sit in a garden. And savor the season.

    You will be invited into workshops in a house that belonged to the same family for generations. And watch them work. Maybe you will paint with gold. Weave. Play with food.

    And of course, you will taste the finest cuisine - ramen or kaiseki - in the world. Guaranteed.



  • Kumano

    Journey deep into Kumano’s ancient mountains & along its rugged coastline.

    You will trace the centuries old UNESCO World Heritage designated pilgrimage route, Kumano Kodo and travel far off the beaten path to meet craftspeople in their mountain workshop. 

    Between the sea and the mountains lie some of Japan’s most scenic hot springs. You will soak, slow down, and experience Kumano as pilgrims have for centuries. You. Will. Rest.
